Maka Cielecka

Maka Cielecka has a master’s diploma in graphic design from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She worked as a graphic artist in Canada and in the Netherlands. Her extensive travels, which began in the mid-90s, led her to Tbilisi, Georgia where she became interested in weaving. Since 2005 it has become her main medium. She works in a very traditional way on a frame using cotton warp and woolen weft, she dyes the wool herself. Each work is based on her own unique design.

Today she lives and works in Warsaw, Poland.
